The cause of death of Rihanna’s father has been made public!

According to the singer’s late father’s death certificate, he died of a number of cardiac and respiratory-related ailments.

On May 30, 2025, Ronald Fenty, Rihanna’s father, died at the age of 70. Despite their former harsh relationship, the two have since made up.

According to reports, Rihanna’s father had a severe bacterial lung infection.

Ronald died from pneumonia, cancer, and other respiratory illnesses, according to his death certificate. According to the certificate, he experienced aspiration pneumonia brought on by a bacterial lung infection, severe respiratory pneumonia, and pancreatic cancer.

In addition, Ronald suffered from severe tubular necrosis and acute renal failure, which resulted in complex kidney injury. The pop star’s father was declared deceased at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Ronald reportedly told TMZ in 2023 that he was happy to hear that Rihanna was expecting another kid with her partner, A$AP Rocky. This was his last word regarding the singer.

The singer attributed his addiction to a tense relationship with Ronald.

The artist has been outspoken about her difficulties in building a relationship with her father, which has been strained since she was a little child. 

Rihanna brought up her father’s substance-abusing lifestyle, which resulted to multiple disputes between him and her mother, Monica Braithwaite, according to the Daily Mail.

The business tycoon mentioned that if she discovered foil paper in the ashtray, which typically contained crack, her mother would create a fight with Ronald. On other occasions, including one she saw when she was only seven years old, the altercation allegedly turned physical.

Ronald’s drug use also forced Monica to take on the job of the family’s primary provider, which meant that Rihanna had to take on the position of caregiver for her younger siblings while her mother worked extra hours.

In 2019, Rihanna filed a lawsuit against Ronald for pretending to be her manager and taking bookings for shows without her consent. Despite spending a lot of money on him to receive treatment at a recovery facility, she once threw him out of her charity event for arriving intoxicated.
