Malouda pushes Chelsea to sign Pogba, saying, “He belongs in the Premier League”

Florent Malouda, a former midfielder for Chelsea and France, thinks Paul Pogba would fit right in at Stamford Bridge and feels the Blues need a player with his level of expertise.

After his doping ban expired in March, reports indicate Pogba is near to a two-year contract with AS Monaco; however, Malouda does not believe the World Cup champion should return to Ligue 1.

“I think Chelsea need an experienced player and Pogba has won the World Cup, the Europa League and knows the Premier League so well,” stated Malouda.

“He belongs in the Premier League, in my opinion. The first stage is for him to achieve proper fitness.

Malouda also commended Pogba’s mentality, stating that he will provide leadership to the team and is resilient.

“He has a great mindset, he has been resilient in his career and in his private life, he will want to get to the top and his experience would be so valuable.”

Malouda feels Pogba would fit in well in the Chelsea locker room, but he also thinks both Chelsea and Arsenal would be good places for him to go.
