Reginae Carter Responds to “Tha Carter VI” Criticism by Supporting Father Lil Wayne

“If you can’t understand it, please move in silence like the ‘G’ in lasagna and get the f**k out of here.”

Reginae Carter remains steadfast in her support of her father, Lil Wayne, despite recent criticism of his most recent album.

In response to a fan who called Tha Carter VI “trash,” the aspiring actress recently addressed criticism of the album on a livestream on Tuesday, June 15. By highlighting her father’s poetic abilities and citing the current culture of viral TikTok trends, Reginae rejected the criticism. She pointed out that others outside of social media can listen to Weezy’s songs.

Carter VI is garbage, right? “That’s okay, that’s what you want to say,” she said to the critic in a video posted to social media. I [detest] this about you children. Why can’t you all go on TikTok and dance a bit for it? That doesn’t imply it’s garbage, sweetie. All right?

She added, “My dad was talking real s**t,” highlighting the lyrical influence and depth her father had on this record. You can hear the music on the album in 2K, video games, f**king shopping centers, and other places. I adore you, it’s universal. You guys need to get over your obsession with TikTok and focus on the real deal. Sweetheart, my dad is a songwriter. My dad is a real s**t talker. Therefore, please leave this place like the “G” in lasagna and depart quietly if you are unable to understand it. Thank you. That’s my final time now.

For many years, Reginae has been an outspoken defender of Lil Wayne’s legacy, regularly retaliating against critics on social media, other rappers, and others who have just undervalued his influence. In February, she defended her father’s Saturday Night Live 50 performance, reminding the detractors that Wayne was making money while they were “hating for free.”

“You guys are some d riders!” After several discussions on why Kendrick Lamar, a native of New Orleans, was selected over Lil Wayne for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show, she exclaimed, “My dad been having fun performing for years!”

In 2019, she also addressed Kodak Black’s derogatory remarks about Lil Wayne, calling him a “maggot” and claiming that he “should have died when [he] was a baby.” After reading these remarks, Reginae posted a photo of Wayne holding her as a newborn on Instagram to defend her father’s dignity. She wrote, “You new lil rappers need to start giving props and respect to the Goat.” My father is not a nuisance to anyone. He is not even going to respond to what was said. Give this man some space; he’s in his own world.

Reginae publicly chastised Young Thug for naming his album Carter 6 even earlier, claiming that it was an attempt to profit on Wayne’s legacy. T.I. once questioned Lil Wayne’s position on the Black Lives Matter movement, and Reginae even clapped back at him.
