WATCH: Jacky Vike and Mammito Star in a Comedic Heist in Netflix’s ‘Inside Job’
Netflix’s new original film, Inside Job, which debuted worldwide on June 14, 2025, is bringing Kenyan storytelling to the forefront like never before.
Jacky Vike and Mammito Eunice, two of Kenya’s most well-known comedians, star in this daring and entertaining heist drama, which is directed by renowned director Tosh Gitonga and blends justice, family loyalty, and a healthy dose of local humor.
The movie tells the tale of two cousins, Jacky Vike and Mammito, who are tired of seeing their family go through hardships without speaking. The two decide to act independently after seeing their aunt wrongfully sacked by a wealthy employer, depriving her of her pension and dignity. To make things right and restore their family’s honor, however, they choose a crazy, hilarious theft over a more traditional approach. In order to convey a story about economic injustice, systemic inequity, and the extent people will go to in order to protect the people they love, the story deftly combines humorous language, social commentary, and humorous events. This story is relatable to many Kenyans.
Famous for playing Awinja in Papa Shirandula, Jacky Vike makes an appearance in the movie with her trademark charm and timing. Mammito Eunice, a leading stand-up comedian and content developer in the nation, joins her. Her comedic skills enhance every scene she appears in. Their on-screen relationship propels the narrative along with a contagious enthusiasm that captivates audiences from beginning to end.
The pair is joined by Shiksha Arora, a former TV news presenter who now acts and makes her Netflix debut in a welcome supporting role. Mehul Savani, Isaac Jemedari, Irene Kariuki, Dominic Musyoka, Ronnie Kariuki, Maryam Jawad, and Elyas Moshkwani are all part of the ensemble cast, and they all add special moments to the film’s vibrant and colorful setting.
Tosh Gitonga, the director of Inside Job, has added the short film Volume and Disconnect: The Wedding Planner to his expanding Netflix repertoire. Gitonga, who gained popularity with his breakthrough movie Nairobi Half Life, keeps improving Kenyan storytelling with vivid imagery and stories that are rooted in the country’s culture.
Tanzanian screenwriter Angela Ruhinda, who co-wrote Netflix’s Binti and Married to Work, wrote the script for the movie. Ruhinda’s writing strikes the ideal mix between humor and emotional nuance, enabling Inside Job to explore important social concerns and go beyond simple amusement.
At the moment, Inside Job is only available on Netflix. Regardless of your preference for humor, a thought-provoking message, or the captivating performances of Jacky Vike and Mammito, this movie is a must-see.
