Bebe Cool Releases “Break The Chains,” His New Album

Bebe Cool, a cultural icon and music legend from Uganda, has finally released his eagerly anticipated album “Break the Chains,” which is currently accessible on all major streaming services. While remaining faithful to the creativity that made him a celebrity, the album features genre-bending compositions, beautiful melodies, and lavish arrangements that showcase his development.

“This is the beginning of a new journey for both African music and Ugandan music at large,” Bebe Cool stated at his album release celebration in Kampala before to its release. I hope that this album will inspire, innovate, and demonstrate that African musicians are capable of telling compelling stories while taking control of our digital landscape.

This 17-track collection marks a daring and novel phase in Bebe Cool’s well-known career. Bebe Cool, who is credited with creating the contemporary Ugandan sound and establishing East Africa’s musical identity, advances with a sound that combines Afrobeats, Afropop, Afrotech, and Afro-house, all of which are rooted in his unique vocal and expressive delivery.

High-profile partnerships like Nigerian Afro-pop sensation Yemi Alade on “African Love,” up-and-coming Ugandan artist Joshua Baraka on “Cheque,” and worldwide Kenyan DJ and producer DJ Edu on “Games” are all part of “Break the Chains.”

Nigerian hitmaker PhilKeyz created the album’s lead track, “Circumference,” which is a lighthearted and sonically rich anthem that combines Afrobeat rhythms with Bebe Cool’s distinctive style. Bushington and Melanin Boy created the follow-up hit, “Motivation,” which revealed Bebe Cool’s more romantic and uplifting side. A dramatic music video, directed by Garrick Williams of South Africa, accompanied the song.

Reinvention has always been a defining feature of Bebe Cool’s musical career. He has always pushed the boundaries of his craft, from his early days in Nairobi as one of the first musicians signed to Ogopa Deejays to his success with Necessary Noize as a member of the acclaimed East African Bashment Crew. A generation of African music fans was influenced by hits like “Africa Unite” and “Fire Anthem.” He is now carrying on that tradition by using music to bridge generations, genres, and cultures with “Break the Chains.”

This album showcases Bebe Cool’s versatility and capacity for change with its captivating blend of dance anthems, love songs, and introspective thoughts. It’s a celebration of sound, identity, and artistic freedom, ranging from the heartfelt songs with Afro-pop roots to the thunderous energy of Afrotech beats.

All digital streaming services now provide Break the Chains. Listen to it on all of the main streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.
