The 2026 Grammy Awards will feature two new categories

There will be two new Grammy Awards in 2026: Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover.

Nominations for the esteemed music event will be revealed on Friday, November 7, 2025, and it will return to Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

To take into account “the ever-changing musical landscape,” certain additional adjustments have been made.

“Representing the music people we serve each year is the Academy’s top priority,” said Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy.

To ensure that our rules and requirements appropriately reflect today’s music and enable us to recognize as many deserving creators as possible, that means paying close attention to what our members have to say. We are excited to celebrate the incredible power of music and its capacity to unite so many people as we begin another thrilling Grammy Season.

With five awards, Kendrick Lamar was victorious from the 2025 ceremony.

In addition to winning the coveted Record of the Year and Song of the Year awards, the rapper’s Drake diss tune “Not Like Us” also earned him Best Music Video, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance.

In addition, Beyoncé had a great evening, winning three awards including, most importantly, Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter, which she dedicated to Black country music pioneer Linda Martell.
