Pop Artist Sabrina Carpenter Startles Fans With the Artwork for Her New Album
The album Man’s Best Friend by Sabrina Carpenter will be out on August 29.
The highly successful pop artist is scheduled to release the sequel to Short n’ Sweet nearly exactly one year later.
On the risqué artwork, Sabrina stunned fans by standing on her hands and knees in front of a man tugging her hair. The cover caused controversy.
One admirer, however, who was standing up for the Espresso singer, implied that she was making fun of the notion that “she’s for the male gaze.”
“I’ve already seen enough, so I gotta explain this cover because apparently y’all are acting dense,” they said on X. “Man’s Best Friend” is a phrase like “dog’s best friend.” In reference to your all-stated support for the “male gaze,” Sabrina is clearly exhibiting it on the cover. This is your perception of her. (sp)
Manchild is the album’s lead track, and when it was released, Sabrina thanked “men for testing me.”
“The mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life,” the 26-year-old singer stated of Manchild, which she co-wrote with Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen.
Not long after finishing Short n’ Sweet, she created “Manchild” on a random Tuesday with Amy and Jack, and it turned out to be the finest random Tuesday of her life, she said on Instagram when the song was released.
Not only was it a lot of fun to write, but this song also became something I can look back on and use to soundtrack the confusing yet enjoyable early adult years of my life.
It seems like a never-ending summer road drive and sounds like the song’s depiction of a tender eye roll! As a result, I wanted to send it to you right now so you could yell it all summer long while sticking your head out the car window!
“Thank you for listening, always and forever.”
And I appreciate you trying me, men! (sic)
Barry Keoghan, an actor from Saltburn, has been frequently named in the rumors around which of her ex-boyfriends the song is about.
The deluxe edition of Sabrina’s Grammy-winning Short n’ Sweet album, which included a new song called Busy Woman and a duet of Please Please Please with Dolly Parton, was released in February.
