
Mariah Carey Makes Her Solo Music Debut After Six Years
Mariah Carey released “Type Dangerous,” her first solo single since 2019.
The first taste of her upcoming 16th studio album has been revealed to fans after she teased them on social media with a glitzy sports vehicle teaser.
“Eric B. Is President,” a 1986 song by the iconic hip-hop combo of Rakim and Eric B., is sampled in Type Dangerous.
Regarding her comeback, Mariah said in a statement: “I’ve been working hard on new music for a while now, and I can’t wait to share it with my fans, starting with Type Dangerous!”
Mariah’s upcoming album will be her first since “Caution” from 2018.
The new tune follows Anderson. Paak recently disclosed that he has been collaborating with Mariah on new tracks.
The 39-year-old singer-producer revealed the information while participating in the social media show Track Star, in which contestants attempt to identify mystery tunes. He was right when he guessed the 56-year-old star’s 1996 song, “Always Be My Baby.”
Anderson stated: “This would be Mariah Carey,” while sporting a T-shirt with Mariah’s face on it. The Mariah Carey.
I recall seeing the music videos and was really smitten in fifth grade or something. We’re composing some songs for her upcoming album.
After being caught holding hands after the iHeartRadio Music Awards and leaving a restaurant together at roughly the same time in March 2025, the couple became romantically involved. This follows their hookup in the studio.
Last year, Mariah commemorated the 20th anniversary of the publication of her album “Emancipation of Mimi.”
