Elon Musk calls Trump’s “big beautiful bill” a “disgusting abomination” and criticizes it
The CEO of Tesla Attacks Congress for a Huge Deficit-Boosting Package
Nothing is being held back by former Doge disruptor Elon Musk. The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla blasted Congress for enacting what he describes as a “massive, outrageous, pork-filled” spending measure in a string of scathing postings on X, but he didn’t leave it there.

According to Musk, Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” is a financial disaster waiting to happen. Musk has made it clear that he finds nothing admirable about the most recent legislation, despite Trump’s prior support for massive expenditure as part of his larger economic and infrastructure plan.
Musk wrote on social media that individuals who supported the measure “know they did wrong” and that it is a repulsive perversion.
Across the political spectrum, the $2.5 trillion bill has drawn criticism for what opponents claim is needless government waste crammed into an already overstretched budget. Musk agreed, saying it will “massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit” and leave Americans with “crushingly unsustainable debt.”
Musk’s critique isn’t merely a celebrity tirade; it reflects growing worry among economists and taxpayers about Washington’s financial decisions, especially as the national deficit soars over $34 trillion.
Musk has been expressing his opinions on government policy before, but this may be his most direct attack to date, targeting lawmakers as well as the legacy of expensive spending schemes. And for the people in charge who believed the criticism would end? Elon Musk simply turned up the music.
