Sabrina Carpenter Is Considering a Part in Mamma Mia! 3
Producer Judy Craymer wants the “Espresso” hitmaker to play a part related to the late Donna Sheridan-Carmichael (Meryl Streep) in the third film based on the ABBA musical of the same name.
“She would be a goddess or some relation who would look very much like Meryl Streep,” Craymer told Deadline.
On her Short n’ Sweet tour, 26-year-old Sabrina, who is a noted ABBA lover, sang some of the iconic Swedish group’s tunes.
The producer, who came up with the concept for the 1999 West End debut of the musical “Mamma Mia!” revealed that she has a draft ready for the third movie.
“Well, we know what we want to do with the movie, and it will happen,” Craymer stated.
“And I mean, we gathered this incredible cast of movie stars who were all connected by it, and strong friendships developed as a result.”
Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and Amanda Seyfried were among the all-star cast members of the 2008 release of the first “Mamma Mia!” movie. The 2018 follow-up, “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,” came after it.
Seyfried has previously argued that, should the film be made, Sabrina should play Sophie’s daughter in the third installment.
The 39-year-old actress told ABC News last year when asked about the possibility, even though the singer is only 13 years her junior: “You know what? For me, old age makeup. It will be just that. Acting is what I do. I will.
“I’ll make it happen if Sabrina Carpenter wants to play my daughter. Everything is alright. She’s I’m a huge admirer.
Amanda stated at the time that “everybody says it’s gonna happen,” even though she hadn’t seen the screenplay for the third “Mamma Mia!” movie.
“Mamma Mia! 3′, let’s go, baby,” she exclaimed.
Everyone predicts that it will occur. I haven’t seen a script, though.
Craymer was working on bringing the franchise’s third installment to the big screen, as fellow cast member Christine Baranski previously disclosed.
“I was in London with Judy Craymer at our favorite watering hole, and she is planning ‘Mamma Mia! 3’,” she said to The Hollywood Reporter. She provided me with the storyline of how it would occur. All I can say is that!
“But, Judy Craymer makes things happen; it’s not like, ‘Oh, I wish it could happen!'”
Baranski is certain that the producer has the ability to reunite such a talented group for a third movie.
“[Craymer] made number two happen, and it was a phenomenal hit,” the 73-year-old actress stated. Judy Craymer might be able to bring everyone back together, in my opinion.
