Davids wins coach of the month in the Tanzanian Premier League

Head coach of Simba SC Fadlu Davids was named Tanzanian Premier League Coach of the Month for May.

Despite having a tough schedule, the South African led his team to an unbeaten month in the Tanzanian Premier League. They won all five of their league games, hitting 11 goals and letting three slip.

But Davids’ team didn’t win any international titles this month because they lost the CAF Confederations Cup final to RS Berkane 3-1 overall. This ruined what would have been an even better month for coaches and players.

The 44-year-old has won this award three times since he came to the country at the beginning of the soccer season.

As a result of Davids’s leadership, Simba has already surpassed their previous league season’s points total and made it to an international final, all in his first season.

One point separates Simba in second place in the Tanzanian Premier League, behind league leaders Young Africans, with three games still to play.
