The Chelsea star claims, “I never rejected Nigeria’s Super Eagles”
Tosin Adarabioyo, a defender for Chelsea FC, has denied rumors that he declined a call-up to play for the Nigerian Super Eagles.
The player, who is 1.96 meters tall and whose full name is Abdul-Nasir Oluwatosin Oluwadoyinsolami Adarabioyo, was born to Nigerian parents at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, England.
The 27-year-old, also known by his moniker Tosin, has played for England’s under-16, under-17, under-17, and under-19 national teams and is still eligible to represent Nigeria.
“I have never declined Nigeria, and I have never discussed my intention to visit them,” Adarabioyo stated on Brila.
“I told them I just wanted to focus on club football at the moment last season where there was some talk.
“I just wanted to have a good run at Fulham, where I was in my final year. Now that I’m in my first year at Chelsea, I wanted to focus once again.
With Nigeria expected to compete in the 2025 AFCON championships in Morocco and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers later this year, it is unclear if the Super Eagles head coach will give Adarabioyo a call-up.
