Miley Cyrus Releases “Something Beautiful,” a Very Personal Album
The hitmaker of “Flowers” explores love, grief, and recovery in her ninth studio album.
Miley sings in the heartbreaking track “More to Lose”: “I stay, when the ecstasy is far away.” I hope that it will come around once more. Though I wish it weren’t true, you say it. We had more to lose, but I knew that one day one would have to make a decision.
A few of Miley’s ex-boyfriends witnessed her recently perform the poignant track. Cody Simpson, Stella Maxwell, Nick Jonas, Kaitlynn Carter, and her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth are among her former partners, though it was unclear which ones were present.
“Something Beautiful” is a visual record, and the movie that goes with it will have its global premiere in June at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival.
With 13 brand-new songs and graphics that have been called a “one-of-a-kind pop opera,” the album is truly unique.
Following the release of the album’s title track, “Something Beautiful,” Miley hinted that it represented “another bold artistic evolution” in her career.
At that time, a statement posted on her Instagram account said: “Miley’s second song and video release, ‘Something Beautiful,’ the title track from the upcoming album, highlights her profound connection to fashion, featuring an original custom design by Casey Cadwallader for the House of Mugler in the visual.
This period represents Miley’s next daring artistic development, fusing music and cinema to create a compelling whole. “Something Beautiful” is currently accessible on all streaming services.
Miley recently hinted that she might release a next album that is “extremely experimental.”
The singer, 32, gave fans a preview of what’s to come during an event held at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood.
“My next album is going to be really experimental, so enjoy that,” she said to the small audience.
“Something Beautiful” is merely a taste.
Along with her 2023 hit, “Flowers,” Miley performed a few new songs at the fan event, including “Easy Lover,” “End of the World,” and “More To Lose.”
She even played “The Climb” from 2009’s “Hannah Montana: The Movie” for the audience.
