Chelsea are The UEFA Europa Conference League Champions

Chelsea won the UEFA Europa Conference League and finished their European trophy collection with a commanding second-half performance.

Chelsea defeated Real Betis 4-1 in the Conference League final to win their first trophy under Enzo Maresca and complete a perfect sweep of European titles.

The talented team of Isco and Abde Ezzalzouli outperformed Maresca’s team early on as they had trouble finding rhythm for the majority of the first half. After latching onto an accurate through pass from Isco, the Moroccan winger calmly slotted home the first goal in the ninth minute.

Despite their early domination, Chelsea took advantage of Betis’ inability to maintain their lead. Maresca’s choice to bring on club captain Reece James at halftime was crucial since the Blues rallied in the second half.

With a brilliant performance, Cole Palmer spearheaded the comeback, creating fast goals for Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez to completely change the course of the match. Chelsea took charge as Betis started to falter.

Additional impact came from the bench when Jadon Sancho, a Manchester United loanee, curled a calm finish past goalkeeper Adrian after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall squared the ball. Later, in the last minute of regulation time, Fernandez again played the role of provider, putting up Moises Caicedo for Chelsea’s fourth goal.

Although it was a tale of two halves, Chelsea’s overpowering second half was sufficient to cap off an unforgettable evening and earn the last trophy in their collection of European titles.
