The NFF confirms that Germany has cleared AGU to play for the Super Eagles

The Nigeria Football Federation, or NFF, has granted Felix Agu permission to play for the Super Eagles.

This week, head coach Eric Chelle added Agu, who plays for Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, to Nigeria’s squad for the Unity Cup invitational.

The 24-year-old, who has previously played for Germany at the U-20 level, was initially expected to train with the Super Eagles.

The full-back will now try to make his tournament debut in London after getting clearance.

The NFF declared on its official X account that Felix Nnaemeka Agu has “confirmed ok to play for Nigeria’s @NGSuperEagles.”

The player has never played for the German FF at the A or junior levels, according to a letter from the team confirming this.

In 2019, I participated in just two friendly matches for the U21 squad. Felix, welcome!

The Super Eagles will take on their longstanding foes, Ghana, in their first Unity Cup match next Tuesday.

The game will take place at Brentford’s Brentford Community Stadium.
