Erin Andrews Provides A Heartbreaking Update Regarding Her Second Child
Erin Andrews is talking candidly about a devastating turn in her family-growth journey.
The sideline reporter has previously been open about her infertility issues.
Actually, before they welcomed their son, Mack, via surrogate in June 2023, Erin Andrews and her husband, former NHL player Jarret Stoll, underwent several rounds of IVF and nearly ten years of attempting to conceive.
Erin Andrews discloses that her surrogate miscarried.
Just hours before recording the most recent episode of her podcast, “Calm Down With Erin and Charissa,” the 47-year-old “Fox Sports” host disclosed that her surrogate had miscarried.
Adding that the pregnancy had seemed healthy, with a strong heartbeat and encouraging stats, Andrews remarked, “I have dealt with this before, but things were going really, really well.” She had already started telling her loved ones, including podcast producer Ryan Musick, about the news.
Regarding herself and Stoll, she remarked, “We thought we had such good news.”
Following her surrogate miscarriage, Erin breaks down.
Although Andrews acknowledged that she’s “really good at suppressing [her] feelings, and work helps with that,” she said that after receiving the heartbreaking report, she broke down in tears and found it difficult to concentrate. Using the line, “I’m really good at doing this sh-t with a broken heart,” from Taylor Swift’s “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” she compared the experience to.
Andrews said, “I just wanted to be open with people and be like, ‘This sucks,'” with her characteristic candor. And it truly does today.
Erin Andrews Discusses Seven IVF Rounds And The Stress Of Juggling Career And Fertility
Erin Andrews disclosed that she had completed seven rounds of IVF in August 2021, describing the procedure as “emotionally draining.”
She said on her blog at the time, “For those who are familiar, you know it’s a time-consuming and emotionally draining process.” “I’ve had these treatments since I was 35 years old, and this is my seventh one.”
She continued, “I have been attempting IVF treatment for some time now, but sometimes it doesn’t go as planned.” “A woman’s body cycles differently, so some months are better than others.”
Andrews continued by describing how she frequently struggles to balance her want to expand her family with her drive to further her work.
As she explained to her readers, “I work in an industry where I think women feel the need to keep things like this quiet.” “But no, there are so many other women who maybe put their careers on the back burner because they don’t want to miss out on any opportunities.”
“It’s so common that people are starting families late and putting so many other aspects of their lives on hold,” the sideline reporter continued.
Erin Considers Her Cancer Diagnosis Before Marrying Jarret Stoll
Less than a year after Andrews’s life-altering health emergency, Erin Andrews and Jarret Stoll were married in June 2017.
The NFL sideline reporter’s reproductive journey gained urgency and clarity when she received a cervical cancer diagnosis in September 2016.
Only a few weeks after getting married, Andrews thanked Health magazine for allowing her to undertake IVF procedures before being diagnosed. “Look at how amazing it is that we had an oncologist say to us, ‘There is an option,’ in case [the cancer] comes back,’ instead of feeling ashamed about it,” she said at the time. “We have no idea what the future holds.”
