Michael B. Jordan is set to be honored with the American Cinematheque Award

The American Cinematheque Award’s 39th recipient will be Michael B. Jordan.

A special ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California on November 20 to honor the “Sinners” actor for his work both on and off screen, including his charitable work through the Lutlier Society Fellowship and the HBCU Legacy Classic basketball tournament.

A statement from Rick Nicita, chair of the American Cinematheque board, said, “Michael B. Jordan’s career has been an unmatched showcase for the combination of superb talent and purposeful vision that has made him a major force in today’s movie business.”

‘Fruitvale Station’ made him a movie star, and he quickly followed it up with memorable parts in ‘Black Panther’ and three ‘Creed’ movies, including his directorial debut in ‘Creed III.’ He has more movies in the works as a director.

“As a result of his many charitable activities, he has become a very busy producer working on a wide range of projects for our company.” Most recently, his two amazing roles in the global hit “Sinners” cemented his place as one of the biggest movie stars of all time.

An yearly fundraiser for the American Cinematheque, the event honored Jessica Chastain last year.

Al Pacino, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds, and Dame Helen Mirren are some other famous people who have won it in the past.

Famous actor and director Tom Cruise gave Michael’s work, especially his work with Ryan Coogler, a lot of praise earlier this week.

“Huge fan of his, huge fan of what he and [director Ryan] Coogler do together,” Tom told ‘Extra. Excellent movie, excellent movie. 

“Everyone should see that picture a bazillion times.” You should really see it in theaters.

Tommy, 38, thinks Michael is a “enormously talented” actor and would love to work with him someday.

“Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” star said, “He’s ridiculously talented, charming, and a great actor.” To make a movie with him, I’m looking forward to.
