Stakeholders from APC North Central gather in Abuja to plan and refocus their efforts in order to maintain political control until the 2027 elections.
In order to preserve the party’s leadership in the 2027 political arena, All Progressives Congress stakeholders in the North Central Zone are currently gathering in Abuja for what one source characterized as realignment.
The meeting’s specifics are unclear, but according to sources, it is most likely to reiterate their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.
According to ARISE News, all five of the North Central Zone’s APC governors are present at the conference.
The governors are AbdulRaman Abdulrasaq (Kwara), who also serves as the chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), Mohammed Umar Bago (Niger), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Usman Ododo (Kogi), and Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia (Benue).
APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, former PDP Chairman Barnabas Germade, former Plateau State Governor Joshua Dariye, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris, Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) are among the other dignitaries.
There are also past governors of Kogi State (Yahaya Bello), Nasarawa State (Tanko Al-Makura), and Niger State (Abubakar Sani Bello) on the list.
Kwara State Governor AbdulRaman Abdulrasaq urged Nigerians to continue to back Tinubu after 2027 in his introductory remarks.
He asserts that other parties, like the Labour Party (LP) and the PDP, are in crisis because they all aspire to be president.
