Misa Hylton Responds to Criticism About Attending Diddy’s Trial: “I’m a Mother First”
The well-known hairdresser also talked candidly about an injury she is currently healing from.
After facing criticism for her recent public appearance in support of Sean “Diddy” Combs during his federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial, renowned fashion stylist Misa Hylton, who is also the mother of Combs’ son Justin, is speaking out.
Combs’ ex-girlfriend, who has publicly separated herself from the troubled tycoon in the wake of the accusations against him, came out against criticism for attending the high-profile trial.
Hylton reaffirmed her dedication to her children and explained her stance in an Instagram post.
“With a walker in hand, I was there for my son when he said, ‘Mommy, I need you,'” Hylton wrote. The truth is that I am my son’s strength and that I am a mother first. Simple and straightforward.
Hylton, who is still recuperating from a recent accident, disclosed that she had planned to recover in solitude but felt obliged to attend her son’s event in spite of her physical state.
“God is always good,” she continued. “Yes, I’m doing well, everyone. I’m working on getting better. I had decided to recover in secret after my injury, but I was there for my son, walker and all, when he said, “Mommy, I need you.”
“Whoever doesn’t understand that just simply isn’t in alignment with me or anything that I’m about in life,” she added, taking aim at her detractors. That’s okay with me. Every day of my life is filled with meaning. I have an effect. When insecure people try to project their insecurities onto me, I don’t care. NEVER.
Nicholas Ramcharitar, her lawyer, also defended her character, saying she was a loving mother to Justin and her other kids. Regarding his client, the lawyer stated, “The most important thing I can say about Misa Hylton is that she is a wonderful mother.”
“She has lovely children. Justin and Christian are both wonderful young men. I’ve had the chance to meet them and work with them in some manner, and it’s evident that they are a monument to the quality of their upbringing by Misa and Sean.
It’s been difficult now that the trial is ongoing, the children are close to their father, and Misa and Sean continue to have a positive working relationship, he continued.
Combs is presently on trial for a number of crimes, including federal sex trafficking and racketeering. If proven guilty of all counts, the founder of Bad Boy Entertainment may receive a maximum term of life in prison.
