David Beckham fires 17 players after purchasing an English club!

David Beckham’s football empire is growing outside of the US. The former captain of England has acquired complete management of Salford City, a team in the fourth level of England, after transforming Inter Miami into a well-known MLS franchise.

Beckham and Phil Neville, the club’s sole owners, were once minority shareholders together with the “Class of ’92” icons Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville, and Nicky Butt. This change in power is bringing about a fast—and profound—new era.

A massive clear-out was the first audacious step under the new leadership. After the team’s poor eighth-place finish this season, 17 players were let go. Club legend Matthew Lund, a beloved member whose exit startled many fans, is one among those fired.

Beckham and Neville want to change Salford City’s identity and goals, most likely in order to move up the English football league, and their bold choices portend a significant revamp this summer.
