Maza and Leverkusen sign a five-year contract

Ibrahim Maza was signed by Bayer Leverkusen from Hertha Berlin for an estimated €12 million, strengthening their attacking options for the 2025–2026 campaign.

This season, the Algerian international has drawn attention to the Olympiastadion after making 30 appearances for Die Alte Dame in Germany’s second division, providing five goals and five assists.

Leverkusen made a play for Maza and activated his release clause because it was doubtful that the Old Lady would be promoted back to the Bundesliga the following season.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder signed a deal with Xabi Alonso’s team through the summer of 2030 after completing his physical at the BayArena on Sunday.

With Die Werkself having qualified for the UEFA Champions League, Maza thinks the club provides the finest atmosphere for him to continue growing and is excited about the chance to play on the European scene.

The adolescent declared, “I want to prove myself on the big stage at a top European club.” “I’m really excited about Bayer 04, the unique, close-knit environment, and a team that has really impressed me in the last few years.”

“What motivates me is the opportunity to keep improving and winning titles here in Leverkusen.”

“Ibrahim Maza is currently one of the most interesting young attacking players,” Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes continued. Ibrahim fits in with our football style.

“He is a strong dribbler, assertive, and possesses exceptional technical skills. He also has an excellent eye for his teammates, which he uses to his advantage.”
