Kagame and the president of Guinea-Bissau talk about collaboration
President Paul Kagame met with Guinea-Bissau’s Umaro Sissoco Embaló on Monday, April 28, and they discussed bilateral collaboration in a number of areas that would benefit both countries.
According to an Office of the President post on X, “the two Heads of State held discussions on global and continental issues, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation across mutually beneficial sectors.”
As part of the endeavors to further enhance the two nations’ bilateral ties, President Embaló made his most recent trip to Rwanda in June 2022.
His three-day state visit to Rwanda in March of that year included a tour of the Kigali Special Economic Zone and the signing of three agreements between the two nations.
Among the agreements were Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on trade and economic cooperation, education cooperation, and tourist, business, and conservation cooperation.
The Amílcar Cabral Medal, the highest honor bestowed in Guinea-Bissau on heads of state of nations friendly to West African nations, was also given to President Kagame in April 2023 as part of the two nations’ relationship.
