Liverpool wins the Premier League after crushing Tottenham

Liverpool came back from a goal down to decisively defeat Tottenham Hotspur 5-1, clinching the Premier League title in impressive fashion on a significant day at Anfield on Sunday.

With just a point needed to secure a record-equalling 20th English title and four games left to play, Liverpool faced an early setback in the 12th minute when Dominic Solanke scored with a header, putting Tottenham ahead.

However, the title party was only momentarily quieted as Liverpool responded with a tap-in from Luis Diaz, a thunderous strike from Alexis Mac Allister, and a shot from Cody Gakpo before the halftime break.

The second half was dominated by one side as Mohamed Salah broke his six-match scoring drought with a low shot past Guglielmo Vicario in the 63rd minute. He celebrated his 28th league goal of an impressive season by taking a selfie with a fan.

Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie inadvertently scored an own goal, capping off a dismal afternoon for the visitors, who have now suffered 19 losses in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool has now equaled Manchester United’s record for English titles, accumulating 82 points from 34 matches, while Arsenal trails significantly in second place with 67 points.
