Finidi gives up following Rivers United’s loss
Rivers United’s head coach, Finidi George, admitted that Kano Pillars had a right to beat his team in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 35 match.
The Port Harcourt team lost to their hosts 2-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Kano Pillars scored goals from seasoned midfielders Ahmed Musa and Rabiu Ali.
Rivers United’s hopes of winning the title were harmed by the defeat.
To win their first title, the leading Remo Stars will overcome the Niger Tornadoes in Ikenne on Sunday (today).
To guarantee a place in the CAF Champions League, Rivers United must now compete for second place.
After the game, Finidi stated, “I think they (Kano Pillars) deserve to win if you look at the chances created and the overall game.”
We need to return and figure out how to win our home games.
“We have two games at home, and I am really confident. I’m not too concerned with six points.
