Nigeria’s role in anti-Nazi resolution is praised by the Russian envoy, who also hopes for a stronger partnership

Nigeria’s membership in BRICS will pave the way for deeper bilateral relations, according to Russia’s representative.

Nigeria’s contribution to the UN’s adoption of the resolution denouncing Nazism has been praised by the Russian Federation.

Amb. Andrey Podyolyshev, the Russian ambassador to Nigeria, talks to reporters in Abuja at the picture exhibit the Russian Embassy organized to celebrate the Soviet people’s victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945).

Nigeria’s recent infatuation with the BRICS has made space for the development of a closer partnership with the Russian Federation, he continued.

The Great Patriotic War, which saw the Soviet Union enter the war two years after it began in 1939, was primarily fought against the Nazis in Eastern Europe and was the biggest, bloodiest, and most destructive conflict in human history, with tens of millions of people killed.

Somber recollection of the Second World War victims, the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany, and information sharing about the risks associated with the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War were the main topics of the photo show.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Nigeria for supporting Russia’s position in the UN’s quest for a resolution to combat the glorifying of Nazism,” Podyolyshev said.

Nigeria supported a resolution on opposing the glorifying of Nazism and activities that led to modern forms of racism, bigotry, xenophobia, and intolerance during the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Nigeria’s assistance is much appreciated, and we will continue to work with it internationally, particularly at the UN level.

“Nigeria recently joined BRICS, and I am confident that our opportunities for collaboration are only going to get better.”

“Of course, our bilateral context is on various issues around the world, and it is crucial that our cooperation continue to improve.”

Podyolyshev emphasized the importance of ongoing discussions regarding the international security concerns of regions surrounding Nigeria, Russia, and other parts of the world.

He reaffirmed the necessity of countries collaborating closely to address global concerns in order to guarantee long-term solutions to problems pertaining to the economic crisis and insecurity.

“Russia has not altered its strategy for advancing multipolarization as a way to address global issues. We shall guarantee a multipolar future.

“The primary focus of our President is the multipolar globe and the rights of the many nations to come together for a shared goal.

It goes without saying that the future global order will be built on these concerns about the interests of many nations in a multipolar world.

The African continent is essentially a polar, authentic culture and policy that has historically pursued its own global interests.

Among other things, the ambassador said, “we see this cooperation of African powers, especially Nigeria, as one of the main priorities of our foreign policy.”

With the USSR’s active participation, the United Nations was established as a result of the Great Patriotic War, which lasted from 1941 to 1945 and strengthened a new international order to stop future conflicts and defend national honor.
