Maradona’s psychologist was accused of having an inappropriate relationship prior to his death

Diego Maradona’s death remains a mystery, and the most recent information has sparked a fresh round of discussion.

Agustina Cosachov, a psychologist who worked with the Argentine football legend, was accused on Monday of having a sexual contact with one of her patients before he passed away. If confirmed, this charge could have major ethical and legal repercussions.

The allegations are based on WhatsApp conversations between Cosachov and Carlos Diaz, a fellow psychologist who worked with Maradona’s medical staff.

Investigators were drawn to one of Diaz’s messages, which read, “You slept with the fat one, you bitch.” Cosachov said, “Hahaha.” Everyone has a different method, but therapy is therapy. The communications have been incorporated into the larger inquiry into the alleged medical incompetence that preceded Maradona’s death in November 2020, despite the tone suggesting irony.

Cosachov responded to the media frenzy by vehemently disputing the accusations on Instagram, describing them as “completely false and deeply unfair.” She maintained that the messages were private and caustic discussions taken out of context, and that she had never had any inappropriate contact with Maradona or any of her patients. Notwithstanding her defense, the episode heightens the drama in the already hazy legal dispute over Maradona’s care in his last days.
