A man has been charged with assault following an incident in which he allegedly slapped Grealish during the Manchester derby

A 20-year-old man faces assault charges for reportedly slapping Manchester City winger Jack Grealish following the 0-0 Premier League draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, according to British media reports.

On Tuesday, Greater Manchester Police announced that a man has been charged with assault and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on July 14.

A police spokesperson stated, “This charge pertains to an incident that occurred at Old Trafford football club on Sunday.”

Manchester United chose not to provide a comment on the issue, whereas Manchester City has yet to reply to a request for their input.
