Usher and Craig David Perform in London
Craig David played alongside Usher on Saturday night at his London concert.
The pop sensation’s “Past Present Future” tour stopped in the UK capital for ten performances at the O2 Arena. At the fourth engagement, he stunned the crowd by inviting Craig to perform a duet on the British singer’s classics “Fill Me In” and “7 Days.”
Craig acknowledged in an Instagram post that the partnership was a dream come true. “Very honored to be on stage with the legend @usher,” he added.
In my opinion, this is a true full-circle moment. I grew up listening to “I Think of You” and “U Make Me Wanna” often. He is among the best artists of all time, and I have always had a tremendous deal of admiration for him. Thank you for this amazing occasion.
Craig recently disclosed that he has been fantasizing about working with the “Yeah!” star for years, ever since they had a “moment” performing a “freestyle” together on a French radio station.
“I think that would be a great … we would create something special,” Craig told BANG Showbiz during Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard last year. Craig grew up listening to Usher.
It was a moment when we performed a little freestyle on the radio at a venue called Skyrock at a radio station in Paris. At the time, I was releasing songs like “Fill Me In” and “7 Days,” and he had “You Make Me Wanna” and was ready to release his album “8701,” so it was a moment.
The general consensus was that “you guys need to [do something together].” To say that we checked that box would be accurate.
Recently, in mid-February, Craig concluded his own tour of the UK.
The “7 Days” hitmaker, who last put out an album in 2022, acknowledged around the end of last year that, after 25 years in the business, he is moved by the amount of people who connect with his music as he considered his childhood.
