Rep. Al Green Says He Will Have Plans to Impeach Trump in 30 Days: “I’m coming to get you”

Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) declared during an anti-Trump protest in Washington that Trump “does not deserve” to be president and that he will submit articles of impeachment against him within the next 30 days.

Speaking to the audience at the “Hands Off!” demonstration, Green stressed that while Trump is a strong man, he is like Goliath, but there is always a David. “There is a David for every Goliath,” he declared, emphasizing his determination. Saying, “I’m coming for you, Mr. President,” Green reiterated his intention to start the impeachment process within the next month.

Green had made same pledges two months prior, denouncing Trump’s ineptitude as a national leader.

Green declared, “You cannot be trusted with liberty and justice for all,” claiming that Trump was unable to lead a government that is “of the people, by the people, for the people.”

In response, White House Assistant Press Secretary Liz Huston reiterated Trump’s position on preserving Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, arguing that the Democrats’ strategy will tax American elderly and deplete resources.

Green had pledged to be impeached in response to Trump’s divisive comments regarding the Gaza Strip.

un February, Green linked his position on domestic justice to global concerns by declaring that “injustice in Gaza is a threat to justice in the United States of America.” Green’s previous attempts to remove Trump from office during his first term failed, and the House censured him in February for interfering with a joint speech.
