Producer Jamie Foxx likens the new music he’s working on to a Luther Vandross album

Breyon Prescott, a songwriter and producer, is piloting the upcoming project.

According to reports, Academy Award-winning actor and R&B singer Jamie Foxx is working on a new album to launch his music career after years away from the recording cabin.

The information was provided by well-known producer and composer Breyon Prescott, who uploaded a video of Foxx singing passionately while traveling with him.

“This is my actual record-making process with my brother, the icon @iamjamiefoxx,” Prescott captioned the video.

Together, we are creating some incredible music with this new album. He continued, mentioning the late, great singer Luther Vandross, “SONGS WITH MEANING AND FEELING AGAIN LIKE LUTHER.”

The remarks made by Prescott have excited Foxx’s musical admirers. Working together on the song “Love Changes” from Foxx’s 2005 sophomore album Unpredictable is not the first time the two have done so.

As with Foxx’s previous works, their most recent endeavor seems to be a return to vintage R&B and soul-infused music.

Back in December, Prescott and Foxx sent a holiday message that alluded to their continued partnership. He urged followers on social media to spend the holiday season watching Foxx’s Netflix comedy special, What Had Happened Was, with their loved ones.

Be grateful for everything you have and enjoy your family. Please take a moment when you are sitting with your family to see what happened; it is iconic and legendary.

Prescott, who has long commended Foxx’s talent, called him a “icon” and a “G.O.A.T.” and reiterated that the two were collaborating on new music. Their next project is set to be a “masterpiece,” the producer claims.

Following a turbulent time in his life, which included a significant medical crisis in April 2023 that required hospitalization, Foxx is back at the studio.

Although the specifics of his illness were mostly kept under wraps, Foxx has since informed fans that he is on the mend and made public appearances, indicating his comeback to the entertainment and music industries.
