The Georgia father who went viral for leaving his kids unsupervised at McDonald’s was not present at a job interview, according to the police

Police are claiming that a young father’s tale doesn’t add up after social media erupted around him after he was forced to leave his kids alone in order to go for a job interview.

After leaving his three children, aged one, six, and ten, alone at a McDonald’s for around ninety minutes, Chris Louis, a 24-year-old father from Georgia, was arrested on March 22nd and charged with deprivation of a minor.

Louis initially stated that he had applied for a job at the West Bank Inn and was awaiting a callback. According to the first reports, he was conducting the interview inside the McDonald’s. Police said that he did, in fact, interview at the motel, but they even discovered discrepancies in his timeline.

Security footage did not show Louis in the hotel at 4:30 p.m., when his kids were dropped off at the fast-food restaurant, but rather at 1:30 p.m.

While Louis was on the phone, allegedly indicating he wanted to “drop something off” before leaving, two patrons observed the children alone inside. They informed the police about the occurrence.

Authorities were informed by his 10-year-old daughter that they had walked from their mother’s apartment and that their father frequently left them alone. She added that he had a backpack for Lissette Pichardo, their mother. After receiving a message on social media, Pichardo showed up at McDonald’s at 6:12 p.m. and called Louis to come back.

Police came to the conclusion that Louis was not at a job interview when his kids were abandoned.

According to Capt. Danny Whitehead, “a misdemeanor charge of Deprivation of a Minor was appropriate given the facts and timeline.”

In only one day, Antonio Brown, a former NFL player, raised almost $75,000 for Louis through his GoFundMe page. He did, however, promise to return the funds to the contributors if the claim turned out to be untrue.
