The US has time to make amends before the 2026 World Cup, according to Pochettino

Canada defeated the United States 2-1 in Sunday’s Concacaf Nations League third-place game, but manager Mauricio Pochettino stated that the team has enough time to work things out before the World Cup on home soil next year.

After losing to Panama 1-0 in the Concacaf Nations League semifinals on Thursday, it was the United States’ second straight loss.

Pochettino has a major job ahead of him after leaving Premier League team Chelsea in May after just one season in charge. He has been given the responsibility of managing the United States during the 2026 World Cup, which Canada and Mexico will co-host.

“I believe we have time, therefore it’s better to lose now. Because we will undoubtedly find ourselves in this predicament in a year. “Houston, we have a problem,” I will say. Pochettino told reporters, “SOS.”

“Avoid negativity and negative sentiments. All of us are disappointed, and the supporters must also be disappointed that we lost. However, I believe that we have good players, so I won’t let (us) feel down.

“We are going to find a way to perform and for sure we are going to compete in a different way.”

The United States’ next game is a friendly match against Switzerland and Turkey in June.
