
So Sad: Memphis Shooting Outside FedEx Forum Injures Sauce Walka and Kills Another Man
Rapper Sauce Walka was hurt in a gunshot that killed Sayso P, one of his artists.
On Saturday, March 22, both males were believed to have been outside the Westin Hotel in Memphis, close to the FedEx Forum. Online comments state that when the incident occurred in broad daylight, Sauce Walka and Sayso P were shopping together in the downtown area.
Just outside the Westin Hotel, the junction of Second Street and Lt. George W. Lee Avenue was closed due to a significant police presence. Several cop cars and ambulances responding to the incident were captured on camera.
While the homicide investigation is ongoing, police have not verified the victims’ names.
With severe injuries and a stable condition, first responders hurried Sauce Walka to a nearby hospital. According to TMZ, the 34-year-old was shot in the leg. According to his family, he wasn’t the shooting’s planned target. The other man was named by HotNewHipHop as Sasyso P, an artist from The Sauce Factory, who apparently died at the scene after suffering fatal injuries.
The Sorry 4 The Sauce rapper shared what seemed to be his final hours of partying with Sayso P and YTB Fatt on his Instagram Stories. On Friday night, the trio and some pals were in a club in Memphis. Some believe the attackers tracked the victims’ movements during their stay in Memphis using these postings.
What began as a great year for Sauce Walka takes a devastating turn with this shooting. His most recent track, “Beat It Freestyle,” was released on Tuesday. He has already released six singles in 2025. His most recent Instagram Story was about linking for features and hunting for work while in town.
Fans flooded the internet with condolences for Sayso P and Sauce Walka.
