Redknapp feels Tuchel needs to win something to justify his position with England

Harry Redknapp claims that Thomas Tuchel was a surprise appointment to coach England and that the FA will need to win the World Cup the following year to defend their pick.

German Tuchel, who was appointed as Gareth Southgate’s successor last year, will make his debut against Albania at Wembley on Friday, making him England’s third foreign head coach.

Tuchel, who has an 18-month contract, was not his first option, according to former West Ham United, Portsmouth, and Tottenham Hotspur manager Redknapp, who also said that he inherited a team that is the envy of the world.

“It’s truly a weird circumstance. Jens Lehmann, the former goalie for Arsenal, said this morning that it would be hard to envision Germany having an English manager. “It isn’t feasible,” Redknapp, who will be back in the dugout for a June match between the South and North of England, told reporters.

When I heard it, it wasn’t a manager who immediately sprung to my attention. Oh my God, I realized. Fabio Capello, an Italian, is a prolific winner who has won the Champions League, Milan, and every other tournament he has coached. He was recognizable.

“Tuchel’s been here, done okay.”

Despite winning two league titles with Paris St. Germain, the Champions League with Chelsea, and the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, this is the 51-year-old Tuchel’s first international assignment.

Redknapp claims the German will not learn much from England’s World Cup qualifying campaign, which starts against Albania and ends on Monday when they visit Latvia.

“Listen, right now it’s difficult to pass judgment. He has selected a team to play two worthless teams. I’ll be watching the TV soap opera Coronation Street during that time. “I simply cannot bear to watch that,” Redknapp, 78, continued.

When we defeat Latvia 5-0 or 6-0, what do we stand to gain? Which players do we learn more about? It’s challenging until we enter a competition.

Serbia and Andorra are also opponents of England in Group K.

AMAZING SQUAD

“Basically, in order to succeed, he needs to win something. We have come a long way under Gareth (Southgate), Tuchel’s predecessor. “He has an opportunity, a fantastic team, and a fantastic group of players,” Redknapp stated.

“You most likely wouldn’t trade them for anyone. In order for him to go and win a trophy, everything is there.

Despite failing to bring home any hardware, Southgate led England to two Euro finals and the World Cup semifinals.

Despite his preference for an English coach, Redknapp, who was consistently passed over for the England position, stated that only Eddie Howe of Newcastle United stood out as a candidate.

“I support having an English manager. I’m interested in seeing that. Something has gone wrong somewhere if you are unable to locate an English manager.

Since they are capable of earning their coaching badges, it is not the coaching system. There is nothing the FA can do to control who runs which clubs. It is up to the owners.

All of them are owned by foreigners. When they arrive, they appear to want supervisors who are from other countries.
