Amazon MGM Studios is working on a biopic about Tiger Woods

There are plans to make a biopic about Tiger Woods.

Amazon MGM Studios has purchased the film rights to Kevin Cook’s book, “The Tiger Slam: The Inside Story of the Greatest Golf Ever Played.” Reinaldo Marcus Green, who directed the film “King Richard,” will helm the film, which tells the tale of how tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams rose to fame under their father’s tutelage.

Irwin Winkler, a seasoned producer who has worked on films like “Goodfellas” and “Rocky,” is in talks to produce the movie alongside Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground firm and former US president and First Lady Barack.

The book focuses on Tiger’s transformation from a young prodigy to one of the greatest golfers of all time, as he wins four major titles in a row between 2000 and 2001 to complete the Tiger Slam.

In 1997, at the age of 21, the sports star had his big break by being the first Black golfer to win one of the top prizes in the sport and won The Masters by the biggest margin ever.

In an attempt to win a fourth consecutive major championship, the American golfer returned to Augusta National four years later.

Through the perspectives of Tiger’s coach, caddie, idols, and opponents, the book chronicled Woods’ quest for excellence in spite of challenges on and off the course.

Tiger reached heights in the sport that many people think will never be attained again thanks to his unique blend of athleticism, strategic acumen, and fearlessness.

The biopic comes after Woods disclosed that he had surgery for a ruptured Achilles he suffered while practicing at home, which is almost certain to keep him out of The Masters next month. The 15-time major champion’s career has been plagued by scandal and injury issues in recent years.

“As I started to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured,” the 49-year-old athlete wrote in a social media message. Dr. Charlton Stucken of the Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida, repaired a ruptured Achilles tendon this morning using a minimally invasive procedure. I’m back home and will concentrate on getting better and going to treatment. I appreciate all of your help.

“The surgery went smoothly, and we expect a full recovery,” Dr. Stucken continued in the statement.

The former world number one also disclosed last week that he has not been really interested in playing since his mother Kultida passed away.
