Shakib sincerely apologizes to Zari and refutes accusations of cheating
Shakib Lutaaya, a Ugandan boxer, has publicly apologized to his wife Zari Hassan, who lives in South Africa, following a social media dispute and cheating charges generated by a viral video.
Shakib responded to the criticism on Saturday night by correcting the record on social media. He apologized for the incident and made his position clear in a poignant video.
“I just know that person; we’re not dating,” he said. “I’m here to publicly apologize because my error was made public.” I didn’t mean to be disrespectful to my friends, family, or wife.
Recently, the undated video appeared online and purportedly depicted Shakib having a dubious interaction with an unnamed woman. Many people conjectured that the meeting was flirty, which fueled speculations about difficulty in his marriage, even though the video showed what seemed to be a straightforward handshake and niceties.
Zari responded to the situation by criticizing men’s tendency to disrespect their relationships on social media. Although she expressed regret, she made it clear that the holy month of Ramadan was still her top priority.
“Men will abandon you without water in the desert,” she wrote.
The pair was recently highlighted in the popular reality show “Young, Famous, and African” on Netflix.
Shakib’s public apology seems to be an attempt to reconcile the division brought about by the scandal, as he aims to reassure Zari’s fans and regain their faith.
