Rick Harrison of “Pawn Stars” gets engaged a year after the death of his son
Rick Harrison and his new fiancée, Angie Polushkin, are getting ready to go down the aisle for the fifth time.
The former “Pawn Stars” star used one of his most valuable items to pop the question to his longtime love. The romantic update follows the TV personality’s loss of Adam Harrison, one of his three sons, more over a year ago.
In January 2024, Rick Harrison’s son died from an unintentional overdose. In July 2020, his father discreetly ended his third marriage to DeAnna Burditt, and he died four years later. Their union gave him three stepdaughters, who were instrumental in his most recent plan.
With a 6.5-carat ring, Rick Harrison pops the big question.
By proposing with one of his most prized possessions, Rick reportedly made sure his new fiancée Angie knew how much he loved her. In a separate context, the 6.5-carat pear-shaped ring first appeared at his renowned Vegas pawn shop.
Rick, however, altered it to make it more unique and deserving of his sweetheart. According to a representative for the owner of Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, he even proposed again and called the striking gem “breathtaking just like Angie is”!
The TV personality initially knelt in his living room, but when he told his stepdaughters about it, they were horrified by the unromantic gesture. According to TMZ, they urged that he should pop the question once more, and Rick eventually had the opportunity while traveling to South America with the couple.
Inside the Second Proposal of the Pawn Shop Owner
Rick made his second proposal in Chile’s Casablanca Valley. He apparently fell in love with the surroundings and thought it was the ideal place to drop the question once more. As can be seen from the photos the pawn shop owner posted, Angie naturally answered yes and even appeared shocked.
Rick and Angie have been dating for approximately a year, despite the fact that they are 18 years apart in age. Months after the reality TV star’s fourth marriage to Amanda Palmer was consummated, they began dating. The couple’s engagement signaled a fresh start, particularly in light of Rick’s son’s passing.
According to the story’s coverage by The Blast, Adam died at the age of 39 after an unintentional fentanyl and methamphetamine overdose. He had been acting strangely and erratically, according to his roommate, who also said he shut himself in a room of the guest home where he lived.
Harrison attributed his son’s passing to inadequate border control.
In a statement released after Adam’s passing, his family said, “Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam.” As we mourn his passing, we kindly request privacy. In an additional Instagram post, Rick expressed his anguish, writing, “You will always be in my heart! Adam, I adore you.
The bereaved father’s feelings were further clarified by Rick’s representative, who implied that the government had let his son down. “I can attest that Adam’s death was caused by a fentanyl overdose. They emphasized that more attention needs to be paid to the fentanyl problem in this nation.
“It appears like nothing is being done to stop it from simply flowing across the boundaries. The spokesman went on, “We have to perform better. Close friends and family attended the intimate funeral service where Adam was laid to rest. He was one of the two sons that Rick and Kim Harrison, his first ex-wife, had.
The TV personality and his third wife secretly got divorced.
The Blast revealed that Rick had discreetly split from his third wife, Deanna, three years before to Adam’s passing. The former couple’s divorce was made public in 2021; according to court records, Rick ended their marriage in July 2020.
Citing irreconcilable differences, the TV personality requested to have their seven-year bond revoked in Clark County, Nevada.
Throughout their relationship, Rick emphasized in his paperwork that the two people’s “tastes, mental dispositions, views, likes, and dislikes have become so divergent that they have become incompatible in marriage.”
Deanna agreed with his filing, but she also requested that the court provide her spousal support. The former spouses resolved their disputes out of court and reached a settlement in September 2020, similar to the majority of celebrity divorces.
Rick gladly accepted his ex’s daughters as his own, even if they were childless.
‘Mutual Decision’ was the term Rick Harrison used to describe his third divorce.
After splitting with Deanna, Rick made it clear he didn’t regret ending their relationship. “I got three great daughters out of it,” he stated. The reality TV personality went on to say that his marriage “didn’t work out, and the divorce was a mutual decision.”
The “Pawn Stars” premiered a new season just days before Rick’s third divorce was made public. Austin ‘Chumlee’ Russell, Rick’s co-star at the time, looked back on his years on the program and said he believed they would by now. In his own words:
“If anything, I assumed I would be off doing my own stupid show. ‘Pawn Stars,’ however, is still being made, and I adore it. Each year is superior to the one before it.
Making “Pawn Stars” and being married for the fifth time should allow Rick Harrison to live out his happily ever after.
