Stuart Pearce, a former England defender, is in the hospital in Canada after becoming ill while flying from Las Vegas to London.

According to talkSPORT, a radio station where Pearce is a pundit, the 62-year-old was treated by Virgin Atlantic employees and medically trained passengers prior to the flight being diverted to St. John’s, Canada, where he is recuperating in a hospital, on Saturday.

“I spoke to him on (Friday) and he was in great spirits,” Sam Matterface, a fellow talkSPORT commentator, described.

It is undeniably true that he is not 100 %. However, he is in the proper location at the hospital. They are addressing it.

England’s Pearce earned 78 caps. He managed Manchester City as well as Nottingham Forest. In Saturday’s Premier League match between his former clubs, Forest prevailed 1-0.

During his 12 years at Forest, Pearce scored 63 goals in 401 games. During the City Ground, supporters hoisted banners in his honor, and a message on the stadium’s large screen said, “Get well soon, Stuart.”

“He’s a little bit disappointed about not being here today (at Forest),” stated Matterface. “He actually said to me: ‘I’ve got so much I’ve had to cancel – great games, and Mumford and Sons are playing next Wednesday night and I can’t go,'” .

TalkSPORT kept Pearce’s medical emergency’s cause a secret. The flight departed at 8:45 p.m. local time and arrived in London six hours later than scheduled due to a diversion.
