Zelensky accuses Russia of targeting civilian infrastructure, and 18 people are injured in overnight Russian strikes

Overnight, Ukraine was hit by roughly 70 missiles and 200 drones, prompting Zelensky to accuse Russia of targeting critical infrastructure.

Ukrainian officials say that a Russian attack overnight injured at least 18 people, including four children.

Two hundred drones and roughly 70 missiles were launched on Ukrainian cities in the strike, which targeted gas and energy infrastructure.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine denounced the attacks, saying Russia was bombing residential areas and “infrastructure that ensures normal life.” A house in Kharkiv was hit by a missile, injuring individuals.

The French air force claimed that the first time French Mirage jets were used in reaction to the invasion, they successfully pushed back the onslaught. During the strike, Poland’s military also maneuvered fighter jets and turned on air defense systems.

This onslaught follows tensions rising after the US cut off military assistance, including intelligence sharing, to Ukraine.

Zelensky is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia next week for peace negotiations between the US and Ukraine, and he is pleading with European leaders to back his suggested measures for a “full and fair” end to the conflict.
