Chameleone’s Fans Will Love His Most Recent Health Update
In January 2025, the musician was transported to the United States for medical care.
Jose Chameleone has thanked his supporters, friends, and the Ugandan government for helping him through his difficult illness.
Chameleone thanked everyone for their prayers and unwavering love in a statement released Thursday morning following a medical examination at Massachusetts General Hospital in the United States.
“Love overcomes all obstacles, even when the path has been lengthy. I have faith that my Redeemer will always see me through, and I will never give up! In a sincere Facebook message, he added, “Glory to God always.”
After his health deteriorated, the singer—real name Joseph Mayanja—went to the United States for specialized treatment.
He did not disclose the specifics of his condition, but previous reports indicated that he was dealing with infections and kidney problems that had a serious impact on his body.
In his most recent update, Chameleone thanked everyone who prayed for him and gave him love, and he expressed happiness at his progress toward recovery.
“Thank you to everyone who secretly prayed for me. I fought hard, too! He expressed his gratitude to the physicians and everyone who undoubtedly thought that I would be alright.
Thinking back on his experience, Chameleone emphasized the need of being well and having real friendships, saying that he had learned a vital lesson from his illness.
In particular, he expressed gratitude to Juliet and Julie for their tremendous support during his trying time.
“This has taught me that the most essential things in life are friendship and health! He wrote, “Thank you, Juliet and Julie—you are heroes and queens in this, and never stop doing good for others as well.”
The artist acknowledged the Ugandan government’s contribution to his medical journey and conveyed his sincere gratitude.
“The government of Uganda, thank you so much,” he said.
Chameleone’s health is getting better, per his most recent medical evaluation, and he is now eager to go back home.
“Based on today’s hospital check-up, I will be coming back home soon,” he said.
When Chameleone’s condition deteriorated and his family and friends realized they needed immediate medical help, they had him airlifted to the United States for treatment in January 2025.
Before being sent to Boston for more advanced care, he was first hospitalized to a hospital in Kampala.
His admirers were deeply concerned about his illness, and rumors circulated on how serious it was.
But now that his health is gradually getting better, his eagerly awaited homecoming to Uganda is imminent.
