According to military officials, a senior commander was among the 46 individuals killed when a Sudanese army plane crashed in a residential neighborhood close to a military airfield in Omdurman, the capital’s twin city, according to the Khartoum state media office.

In northern Omdurman, the incident happened late Tuesday close to the Wadi Sayidna military airfield. The Sudanese army said that a number of soldiers and civilians had been killed in the conflict, but it gave no other information.
