Jacques Kruyswijk of South Africa wins the 2025 Magical Kenya Open

Jacques Kruyswijk, a South African, defeated Englishman John Parry by two strokes to win the Kenya Open and earn his first European Tour championship.

At Muthaiga Golf Club, Kruyswijk, 32, had a one-shot lead going into the final round, but it swiftly vanished when playing partner Parry recorded consecutive birdies on the fourth and fifth holes.

The South African, however, reacted by making consecutive birdies on the sixth and seventh holes to regain the lead. He then continued to play without making any more bogeys, finishing the tournament on 18 under par.

Although he painfully missed his aggregate record set at the Karen Country Club, he is the first South African to win the tournament since Justin Harding in 2021.

It’s unique. Being able to preserve the trophy in Africa and, of course, bring it back to South Africa makes me pleased. After the victory, Kruyswijk, who will play at the Durban Country Club in the South African Open, stated, “I’m really proud of it.”

“Given my attitude this week and my performance on this golf course, I’m really proud of myself. What am I supposed to say? I’m content.

With a victory and two second-place finishes in his three trips to Africa this season, Parry continued his strong start to the season by finishing in solo second on 16 under.

Deon Germishuys was one shot clear of fellow South African Jayden Schaper in fourth place, and three shots farther behind in third.

Kruyswijk received Ksh. 54.4 million as the top reward for his victory, while Parry took home Ksh. 35.2 million.
