ASAP Rocky’s Not Guilty verdict in the assault trial: Rihanna’s Reaction

After A$AP Rocky was declared not guilty in his felony assault trial, Rihanna is feeling “thankful.”

The 36-year-old pop queen has been dating 36-year-old A$AP since 2020. He was accused of shooting his ex-friend Terrell Ephron after a fight outside a hotel nearly four years ago, but Rihanna expressed her relief on social media after he was found not guilty on Tuesday.

“The glory belongs to God and God alone,” she posted on Instagram. I am grateful and humbled by his kindness.

Throughout the trial, A$AP refuted Ephron’s allegations that the Grammy Award-winning rapper, whose true name is Rakim Mayers, had fired at him, causing him to graze his knuckles.

Nearly a month after the trial started in late January, the 12-member jury declared Mayers not guilty, despite the fact that he faced a maximum sentence of 24 years in jail.

When the verdict was announced, the “Umbrella” hitmaker, who has RZA, two, and Riot, eighteen months with A$AP, sat behind her spouse.

“Thank God for saving my life,” he stated.

Ephron and the “Fashion Killa” hitmaker became pals in high school, but their communication dwindled throughout the years that saw him become international fame.

Ephron and his legal team claimed that the firearm was a real weapon during the trial, while Meyers’s defense said it was a harmless toy pistol.

Although the jury was able to view part of the security tape that was taken during the altercation, no footage of the actual claimed shooting was caught.

Since there was no proof to support Ephron’s claims, Judge Mark Arnold declared, “Mr. Mayers, you’re excused!”

A$AP had turned down a six-month jail sentence if he agreed to just one of the two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic handgun shortly before the trial.

“This whole experience has been crazy for the past four years,” he stated after being found not guilty.
