Cristian Fiél is fired as coach of Hertha Berlin due to subpar performance

Cristian Fiél was fired as head coach of Hertha Berlin following a run of poor Bundesliga 2 results. The team, which is only five points above the relegation zone in 14th position, is suffering despite being expected to battle for promotion.

The management made a radical decision after their most recent 2-1 loss to Düsseldorf served as the last straw.

Benjamin Weber, the director of Sporting, commended Fiél’s commitment but acknowledged that the outcome fell short of expectations. “Unfortunately, we haven’t achieved the results we were hoping for, but Fiél has led the team through a challenging time,” he said. In spite of his dedication, the club believed that a change was required to stabilize the team.

Rebuilding for the upcoming season and ensuring safety are now Hertha’s top priorities. With aspirations of rejoining the Bundesliga soon, the team must swiftly select a successor who can stabilize the ship.
