According to a doctor, eating cheese can prevent hangovers

Cheese snacks might help prevent hangovers.

According to pulmonary and critical care medicine specialist Dr. Neena Chandrasekaran, the nutrient-dense yellow dairy product might coat the stomach, reducing the amount of alcohol it absorbs.

This is because cheese contains a lot of complex carbohydrates, fat, and protein.

“Cheese contains a lot of protein and fat that can coat the stomach which decreases the absorption of alcohol,” she stated in a TikTok video that has received over two million views.

Since cheese is high in calcium and B vitamins, it also helps to restore nutrients.

“When alcohol is consumed, the body loses these particular nutrients.”

Like many other medical professionals, Dr. Chandrasekaran has advocated abstaining from alcohol rather than overindulging.

“Remember, no alcohol is better than any alcohol,” she continued.

However, if you plan to consume wine, make sure to sample some cheese first.
