“I’m in the same boat as Postecoglou,” Man Utd manager Amorim admits

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim claimed that he and Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou are similar in that they both remain steadfast in their tactical convictions and football philosophies in the face of external criticism.

Both clubs are in new terrain in the Premier League standings, with United in 13th place and Spurs in 14th, two points below Amorim’s squad. They will play each other on Sunday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Amorim thinks they have the same issue since both managers have attempted to get their players to embrace a particular style of play, which has frequently cost them at the back because they give up goals.

“I adore Ange Postecoglou. Being Portuguese, I come from a different culture, and all Portuguese coaches can adjust. “I adjust,” Amorim said to reporters on Friday.

“The simple reason is that I currently only use one system because I think you can play in several systems simultaneously if you work on that system. I came up with the suggestion.

“However, we aren’t winning games, and I see that Ange and I have similar issues.

“With all due respect, I feel that I am under more pressure at a larger club. I see the link, and he’s a very valuable coach who should be held to his values.”

In addition to losing both of their domestic cups in three days last week, Spurs have only won two league games since the beginning of December. Amorim expressed sympathy for Postecoglou.
