“It was a terrible mistake to let De Gea go”
Paul Parker, a former Manchester United defender, feels the team erred in firing David De Gea and is not persuaded by Andre Onana’s performances over the last two seasons.
Although Onana left Inter Milan for United in July 2023 for €50 million, the Cameroonian international has not had an easy time since.
Over the past two seasons, Onana’s advancement at the club has been hindered by inconsistent performances and high-profile errors; Parker feels that United needs a goalkeeper who is “actual.”
It resembles a fashion fad. Parker told the People’s Person, “Everyone was talking about a goalkeeper with good feet.”
“I want a goalie that I can trust to make saves and who, when he does, doesn’t give the ball back to the opposition for a second chance.”
He explained to everyone how he would play this season, which is a little odd considering that he is a goalie instead of an outfield player. He talked about how his margins will grow thinner on his deliveries and other things like that.
“Letting De Gea go before replacing him with someone who, in my opinion, is actually a goalkeeper was a poor decision.”
