Fox claims that their Super Bowl viewership on Sunday set a record
Fox Sports (FOXA.O), the broadcaster, estimates that a record 126 million people watched the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Sunday. A new tab will open on Monday.
This figure encompasses viewers of the NFL championship on the Fox broadcast network, FOX Deportes, Telemundo, streaming service Tubi, and NFL digital domains.
Nielsen will likely disclose the final numbers on Tuesday.
The Chiefs’ thrilling overtime victory in last year’s Super Bowl on CBS (PARA.O) opened a new tab. The game drew 123.7 million viewers, the most ever at the time. This time, the Eagles scored a 40–22 victory over the Chiefs after dominating the first quarter.
Every year, the Super Bowl is the most watched event in the United States. Every 30 seconds during the game, advertisers spend millions.
