Young Africans are dumped by Ramovic for CR Belouizdad
After Sead Ramovic abruptly left Young Africans on Tuesday, CR Belouizdad announced his appointment as their new head coach.
After overseeing a six-game winning streak in the Tanzanian Premier League to get his team within one point of bitter rivals Simba at the top, the German-born strategist was only in command of Yanga for 81 days.
However, after finishing third in Group A with two wins, two draws, and two loses, Ramovic—who famously left TS Galaxy on live TV on November 6—did not advance to the CAF Champions League quarterfinals.
After firing Abdelkader Amrani, who finished with a record of three wins and three losses in Group C and was eliminated from the CAF Champions League knockout stages, the Reds were looking for a new manager.
The 45-year-old reportedly received a two-and-a-half-year contract at the 20 August 1955 Stadium after purportedly negotiating a better financial deal with the Algerian team.
The Algiers squad posted on their official Facebook page, “The club announces the appointment of Sead Ramovic as the new head coach of the first team.”
“We hope he succeeds fully in his new role. Later on, there will be a formal induction ceremony.
After 15 games, CR Belouizdad is two points behind their neighbors, MC Alger, in second place in Ligue 1. Ramovic takes over.
