Rory McIlroy wins the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with a 66-stroke stroke

Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at Pebble Beach, California, on Sunday, shooting a 6-under-par 66 to earn his first PGA Tour start of the year.

Supported by an eagle in the final round, McIlroy won the championship at 21-under 267, winning by two strokes at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

After winning twice last year, McIlroy is off to a strong start in 2025 with his 27th triumph on the PGA Tour.

The 35-year-old McIlroy claimed he seldom performed well on the tour’s early California swing, but he was more than capable of handling the windy and occasionally cold conditions.

Shane Lowry of Ireland finished in second place with a four-round total of 19 under after birdieing the last hole for a 68. At 18 under, Lucas Glover (67) and Justin Rose of England (68) were tied for third place.

Third-round leader Sepp Straka of Austria (72) and South Korea’s Tom Kim (70) were seventh at 16 under, while Russell Henley (67) and Australia’s Cam Davis (69) shared fifth position at 17 under.

In the first five holes of the back nine, McIlroy’s advantage grew to four shots thanks to an eagle on the par-5 14th hole.

Using a driver and 7-iron, he arrived at the green and made the 26 1/2-foot putt. Over the last two days, he had parred the hole.

Even Glover’s birdies on the last two holes weren’t enough to catch McIlroy when he added a birdie on No. 15. Rose’s fringe chip that rolled in for an eagle on No. 18 wasn’t either.

Straka struggled over the opening 13 holes, making only one birdie and two bogeys. After winning at The American Express last month, he was unable to secure his second victory of 2025 after three more birdies and two bogeys on the last five holes.

With a final round score of 67, Scottie Scheffler, the World No. 1 in his first competition of the year, ended in ninth place at 15 under, along with three other players.
